Photography related tattoos

Cool! . Great idea, I had never thought of that. I guess people really smile when they see it.

I remember seeing a photo of a canon camera tattooed on there arm leg. Ill see if I can find it.

Hello you!

kmiragaya - great isnt it?! Since then I've done a bit of googling and it seems its quite a common one (as well as a finger moustache would you believe?!) but I just love the font she's had it done in any everything - it just rocks! I want to be a total sheep and get it done too!

ETA - x posts there Andy. WOAH that's some major loveage for Canon!!

Nope, just Eddy the head, a wizard and a coat of arms :D

Nothing to do with me but I came across this a while a go on flickr and thought it was awesome! There's a cool back story involved as well :)

Alice, any chance we could see the picture of it, or do you think that might be a bit off (posting her personal pic here)? I'd love to see it, even though it's not for me (I toy with the idea of a tatt every now and then, but never get round to it, which in a way I'm sort of pleased about - all my piercings in my earlier youth were something I wanted to get rid of eventually - a lot easier with piercings!). I'd love to see it though.

Going to look verrryy silly if he decides to jump ship to Nikon.

I've got B B on my arse cheeks - when I bend down people shout BOB....

Seriously though - photography tattoo? Can it get any worse than that?

its something i think il get done even if people think im a geek for doing it!

although im pretty much covered and already have a robot on my shin and plans for a penguin so a camera cant make things much worse... :D

I have quite a few Tattoos myself and whilst i like the smile tattoo i don't think i'd ever get a tattoo of a camera:thinking:

This thread reminds me of the one where the bloke had a D3 tattoo'd on him:cuckoo:

that smile inkage is awesome, need more work done for my hands so may have to 'borrow' that idea... :D

looks like smill to me

As much as I like well done tats, I don't think I would ever get one that couldn't be covered by a shirt.

The smile one, while fun and cool, could make some people prejudge her and may give the wrong impression at weddings etc.

I have a tattoo, well, 8 small ones that make one, and I do have plans to get more, it's just a personal choice to keep them coverable.

that looks really poorly done though, the lines are crap and the design doesnt fit the part of the body. if done properly, tattoos are lovely things to look at!

Hm! Won't Donna's subjects all have a squint, with trying to read it?? ;)

And having met Dave a few times this guy certainly knows his tatoos

It always amazes me when we have tattoo threads on here that photographers could make such negative comments about another art form.

Saying something isn't for you is fine but tattoos really do seem to bring out strong emotions in people.

i agree, i dont see what all the negativity and problems are with ink, its another art form and up to the individual, having some doesnt mean im any different than anyone else, just more interesting when naked!:D

Tattoos are very marmite, and different tattoos give different meanings to people. When you look at a tattoo, you think "what made them do that" whether you like or loath the tattoo itself.

Some people want to know the why and the meaning behind the tattoo, others just think that anyone who gets inked is daft.

I tend to fall into the latter category TBH, but agree that some tattoos look great, although many look awful and make you wanna cringe.

Also, there are so many tattoo shops (newton-le-willows, population just 22,000 has three) that it is much easier and less of a taboo to have one, so more people do. I feel my body is that be rarer not to have a tattoo tbh.

That was my though as well - it's small and in a not-very-easily-readable font. Not only that but the subjects will also be looking a little up and to the left of the lens - possibly good to help avoid red-eye from the flash but not so good in terms of the subjects engaging with the camera. (IMO)

As for tattoos in general, if you don't like 'em, don't get one, don't click on threads that discuss them and don't prejudge those of us who have them. Personally, all mine are above T-shirt sleeve level (or covered by other articles of clothing) - they're for me, I didn't get them for anyone else! Itching at the moment - might have to go and Bepanthenise the latest one in a minute!

I don't think the negative comments are about the art form itself, its about where it is and what people do to themselves.
An ink drawing is an ink drawing, nice on a piece of paper, yes...on my chest for all eternity??...get stuffed.
Peeps can do what they want, its a free country, if you ask my opinion I say they look bladdy awful, deeply unattractive, I've no clue why anyone would do that to themselves, but I defend their right to do it if they want to.

I'm sure they're all very grateful.

I detest a bad tattoo, but then I love a good one, just as with any other drawing, ink, painting or photograph. I must say it puzzles me that those who dislike all tattoos seem to want to offer their opinions on them more so than those who wear them.
I reckon they harbour a secret desire for one
