For any of you with Android based smart phones, you may be interested in a couple of apps which are available totally free from the Google Play shop.
The first one is a very easy to use depth of field calculator and can be found at https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... rch_result
For any focal lenghth/aperture combination, it will yield the minimum and maximum points of focus and the hyperfocal distance. It will adapt its readings for three different teleconvertors and you can pre enter the appropriate CoC for many different cameras. This really is a gem.
The second is a neutral density filter exposure calculator. Useful for when you use a "big stopper". You merely click on the filter value and shutter speed obtained from the camera before fitting the filter. The app then gives you the appropriate shutter speed to be used when the filter is fitted.
