Took the family to the seaside today for a little day out.

I was goign to take my d50 but to be honest I was nervous about the sand so i tookl my olympus c740 Uz instead. To be honest the sand got everywhere it even seems to have gotten into the lensworking (can hear it grinding when zooming)

So, I was wondering, what do you guys do to keep the sand out of the precious little boxes

to be honest the pics I took (didnt really take many) were mostly just the usual holiday snap type thing

I do like this one though, nothign by most people standards, but i have always liked these type of shots

I like that, your horizon is slightly off though.

I like it too. Looks slightly wierd and plastic though, like something you'd see in the Thunderbirds :D

I took my cam to the beach the other day and basically just kept it in it's bag on top of a rock most of the time. Before I got it out I made sure my hands were completely free of sand. Also if the sand is wet it won't blow around so much, but I've heard about people wrapping a plastic bag around the lens (not the zoom and focus rings of course) to keep out the rain, so maybe this would work with sand too?

cant say ive ever actually had a problem with the camera getting sand into it on the beach, just keep it in its bag, make sure your hands are clean of sand and salt water before you take the camera out and dont drop it!

Never had a prob with taking camera on the beach, but i would never change a lens

I took my 350 onto a beach once, and even changed a lens...it was fine...

Until 10 minutes later when my 6 yr old daughter threw a handful of sand at me and my camera thinking it was funny....I did not ...lol
