go through thousands of black and white negatives and actually print something . i know i wont coz im a lazy git ( dont get the time honest ) but at least i will have something to do when i retire in twenty odd years time!

I'll make the same New Year resolution this year that I make every year - not to make one.

Grow some balls.

Pointless in having a good camera etc if I don't have the confidence to go out and take photos.

1. Get a second DSLR body.
2. Commit myself to one big event each month and actually go!
3. Try some basic stuff at home.

1) (Well its already sunk in but i still need to reinforce it to an extent) To realise that a good photographic scenario will not be put in place before me and that i am always the one who has to create a photograph from anything i see.

2) To sell some prints at the local art cafe before i become 16 as they dont charge under 16's comission

Jesus Dave!! your only 15!!! i wish my daughter was as switched on as you!! lol

You have a very good attitude there mate.. keep it up...

to join the photography club if i can afford it, and as long as it isnt old men talking about photographs of trains.....and the old days as someone said their club was and try to be happyish

I'm going to enjoy my photography and try and have at least one day a month where I will take my time with it and not shot 20 frames a minute  ;)

*Develop a decent filing/back-up system [also probably buy a external harddrive]
*Enter as many competitions as I can [Online, In Mag and Camera Club]
*Organise my workflow
*Write down all the project ideas I have floating around my head no matter how silly.
*Try shooting glamour, with models [friends] or on a studio day.
*Try my hand at studio work, kids, teens, adults etc.
*Try and enter at least one shot into every camera club competition.
*Buy a new lens when I have the money
*Pay off my camera and credit card :whistling:
*Do as many modules in my photography diploma as possible

So..theres a few of mine!

erm...guess I have a few:

  • Build my website (only been planning to do that for 2 years now)
  • Start a photoblog
  • Purchase lightroom and sort a propper workflow out
  • Get out with the camera at least once a day (when possible - which is most days)
  • Get at least one shot into "explore" on flickr (just because I want to)
  • Do lots more night photography (which also means getting a remote shutter release and good tripod)
  • Try and build my own style of processing

Think that will do for now :p

Right...so half way through the year (plus a bit) - how is everyone doing?

  • Build my website (only been planning to do that for 2 years now) NOT DONE
  • Start a photoblog NOT DONE(well I started one, but only did one post)

I didn't post in this! Yay! :D Im squeaky clean...lol

Needless to say though, if I had, I would only have done half of them.

I do plan to take my photography much more seriously now anyway. My son is going to school full time in September so I want to use the time to build myself up and maybe take myself professional.

Here is a few things i want to get done

  • Get a website built
  • Sort out some studio work
  • Build my portfolio
  • Get more confident in Street Photography
  • Make my photographs more intresting
  • Buy a Sigma 1200mm :)

 if only i came into 28,000

I don't think i'll ever use it though, in case i break it :D

Learn to use the camera reasonably well which means understanding and remembering more of the manual than I do at the moment! Well I know where things are on it to the point where I was able to tell someone how to change a setting on theirs, and I can change settings without looking for the buttons - using it reasonably well is still outstanding though!!

Hoping to get the book understanding exposure for christmas, so that should help a bit. Got it and I understand it a lot better - still expert at blown highlights though

Getting out more to use it and hopefully get some decentish pictures to start with, and some nice ones by the end of the year. Lets aim at decentish by the end of the year and nice ones by 2010

Learn to do more than just crop and resize in photoshop  Cough splutter :runaway:

Stop buying things, I think I have all the gear I need, and then I want more.

It was to enter every monthly TP comp... so far so good!!!! :D

I knew in my head it was going to be a good year, Ive already earnt a bit of money, Ive had some new kit to play with, I tend to learn something new everyday, Ive got a lovely website almost up and running, I am shooting my first real wedding in a fortnight, and my tog life seems pretty good :D

I'm like Marcel on this one........squeaky.

If I had done one it would be to learn how to take the pictures I can see in my head but never had the technical expertise to pull off. It's a tall order but I can honestly say that this year I have pulled off a couple of shots that I would not have been able to do a year ago. Most of that is down to reading books, shooting more and you lovely lot. I learn something new here every week!

There was one portrait that I saw the image and actually got exactly what I wanted from it. Also one wedding pic (I'm going to ask if I can post it here as I shot it for my lovely wedding tog) I saw it in black and white and as they moved just right in the light I got the shot. Those two are my real stand out shots this year so I'm happy it's going the right way. (Two more than last year!)

Still to do? I do have a website but it's not even up to date!

I have a book of my stepdaughter to get printed.

I have a lot more film to shoot although I have developed my own so that's progress.

I want to shoot more weddings (Hey call me a masochist, I actually like them!)
