Yes
i subscribe to photography monthly mag,but the format & features have recently changed, for the worse in my opinion, what other magazines are good alternatives for tips, tutorials etc?

I get Photoplus, dedicated to Canon cameras. Usually has a couple of reviews and good selection of techniques using Canon and Adobe software, worth checking out.

Recently got a Practical Photography subscription using Tesco vouchers. Much cheaper way of doing it.
I quite like the format and reviews too.

Ditto, just ordered mine tonight

I like Digital SLR Photography myself, also quite like Practical Photography :) Will probably subscribe to that once my Digital Photo sub runs out - I think I've seen everything now from Digital Photo...

I subscribed to digital SLR for two years and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I loathe PP with a vengance!

Digital Camera and Digital SLR User are the mags I subscribe to, like the range of content in them both and eagerly await their delivery each month :)

Have to agree with you regarding PM, I subscribe to Digital Photo, but buy quite a few photography mags as and when articles interest me.

I don't subscribe to any particular mag, just buy ones that have something I can learn or a feature of interest.

Latest mags I seem to buy month after month are Digital Photographer and Outdoor Photography

I subscribe to Digital Camera Magazine - which tends to repeat after about a year (like most mags on seasonal themes) but I like the format and layout.

I also buy Digital Photographer - which has some Pro related stuff - but I dont think Pro's would consider it very good on that score.

Personally I did not like the style or content of Practical Photographer.

Digital Camera Magazine has some good subscription free gifts - Digital Photographer never does!!! Just price reductions. I like freebies me :)

:plusone:

Photoplus covers canon software DPP and all the tutorials are canon based so ideal for your 350d....

For more advanced stuff "photopro magazine"...

if you have had it for 12 months then you are pretty much going ot repeat the same articles in very other mag over the next year. unless you require one of the free bags etc that they offer I would just skim through them in the shops if they have anything interesting in them. can't remember the last time I actually bought a magazine

Not a monthly, but a weekly - British Journal of Photography. Always has interesting articles and lots of news about working in the photography industry.

Good old Amateur Photgrapher is my only semi-regular read

Used to quite like Photgraphy Monthly, but since January its been total cack

I get Digital SLR photography for free :)

I get it too - but not for free! :shake:

I like it because as a beginner there are lots of 'how to' features, with step by step guides - perfect!

andrewc - how do you get it for free????? ;)

Another vote for Canon`s PhotoPlus, depends on your level, if like me you want a mag that is easy to follow and not over technical

Yup, me too, I really like it.

I take that on subscription, but never again.
Last 2 issues have failed to arrive.

I subscribe to this as well. The tutorials are very good, expecially the photoshop ones. I really like the quality of the paper/images and whilst I've not used it, it has a busy online forum as well.
