Hi, I've just found a box of mags, most of which are from 1997.

There's quite a few with darkroom features and loads of film techniques. I thought I'd offer them before they go in the recycle bin.

Free to a good home but I can't really post them because of the weight.

I'm in Blyth, Northumberland but work in Ponteland if anyone is interested.

Mods - sorry if this should be in the classified but they're not for sale and I thought this forum would get to those who might be interested. :)

not to worry - I think we can allow this as it's a giveaway, and as nobody other than people in F&C would be interested...

Prices, look at what you could not aford in the 90s in the old mags and its like being a kid in a candy shop today,so much nice kit, maybe film buy it and use it.Better than Dig.....,not going into this again

loopy, as lostinfrance says, "kid in a candy shop." BURN THEM. I was given a load of UK mags from the late 90's to early 2000's. Up until then I was satisfied with my Minolta 800si, but looking through those old magazines, I started to drool. Nikon F4; Contax 167/AX. Canon EOS 5; Minolta 9000;You can get some of those 'modern classics' for a pittance nowadays. You will cause someone to burn a hole in their pocket/wallet.:nono:
I used to get up to Blyth regularly, but not nowadays. Then I thought - 'Fergusons Transport could perhaps deliver them to me.' if you paid the haulage costs.!!:D
No, not interested - I am going to get my biscuit tin savings box from under the bed and weld it up.:cuckoo:

LOL. There's quite a few articles on why people should convert to digital.

Well, if there are no takers it's the bin for them.

D'oh! just realised that I could have burnt them for the latest comp. Bah

You're existing shot is hard enough to compete with as it is... glad you thought of this too late ;)

It's a shame that there's nobody nearby who wants 'em - i'd have had 'em in a flash if i'd have been nearer, but you're a bit far away for me to drop 'round, sadly...

TBY - Seeing as you're the only one who's shown any interest, if I get 20 mins this weekend do you want me to pull out the darkroom articles and post them.

How, loopy, divvn't burn them, yi knaa. It waad be sackriligeous. Honestly, if A'ad lived a bit nearer I wad hev tekkin them off yi. Mind the ones I had given, as I say, they made me buy some modern classics, but eventually I tore out the appropriate pages and articles, which I wanted to keep for reference. Wor lass, who hails from Yorkshire, remarked when she saw the loose paper, " EEE, by gum, plenty lavotory paper, now, pet."
As regards the BigYin - typical Tyke. - "Eeeeh, lad, I would have ridden me pedal bike up to get them, but I might have worn 1/4inch off me tyres, and a Yorkshireman sweats for nobody but hissel. Tha knose."

Loopy - if you haven't got rid of them yet, I will be interested. Sorry - I missed this!

Loopy - sorry I didn't reply earlier - I must have missed the reminder amongst all the rest of the Mod messages I get bombarded with now - i'm a bear of little brain at the best of times, and get confused if i recieve more than 3 emails a day.

If there's anyone else who's interested, by all means pass the mags onto them - while a quick read through the darkroom stuff would be a nice exercise in nostalgia, there's no way i'll be able to set up another darkroom, and reading about the stuff will only make me pine for what I can't have.

Thanks for the generous offer though, and once again, profuse apologies for not getting right back to you about it.
