It's my birthday in a few weeks and I have been asked if there is anything I would like. As usual, I have asked for some photograph stuff. I thought it might be interesting to see, what is the best gadget you have received as a gift?

Ask for filters :) if you don't have them already.

I got a 70-200mm f4 for my Christmas a few years back. Bought myself a tamron 17-50 2.8 this year.

I'd be very happy with a set of wireless flash triggers, infrared remote or a sound/motion trigger as a present, a decent filter set would be another good idea if you haven't got any. For my birthday/wedding anniversary (both on Aug 29th) I'm hoping to get a new camera body, maybe a 70D if they're out in time, but I'll have to part ex or sell my 7D to go towards it as well.

I would second that on the triggers, or even some Yongnuo 560's!!!
It also depends on who's buying the gift i.e. are you buying it? :) - if so, then treat yourself to ancillaries i.e. triggers, filters (especially ND) or even an R72 IR for a bit of fun :)

It's gift ideas for my wife and family so anything upto £50 ish. I don't have much lighting stuff, only a SB600 flash gun, so triggers and some other kits like umbrellas and strobes ect would be good. Any recommendations?

Large memory card, remote shutter trigger, monopod

John, for £50 I would have a look on Amazon in the studio lighting section :) plus it will allow you to make a wish list to save for the big day etc ::)

Couple of lastolite reflectors fold up tiny and can be used in and out.

Camera bag.
Yongnuo flash
Soft box
White umbrella
Umbrella stand with flash mount
