There have been some self-organised meet ups too, wandering round places like London, Oxford etc, though they were of a more social than instructional nature (and fun).
And that is exactly what we don't want, and said won't happen.
Yes the prices "they" mentioned, have been very attractive,
But from the out-set we 3 agreed that we would never get rich from TP and as long as we broke even at the end of each year, then we will be happy.
So far so good, with the loyal advertisers and of course not forgetting the generous nature of some members donating to the Buy us a cuppa fund.
Covid knocked most or that on the head unfortunately.
Not forgetting the Nutters meet at Whipsnade zoo mid Jan that Covid killed off) The ( static) MEGGA meets were good fun, ( advertisers bring kit for people to try, lectures by Garry and a couple of others, photographic models, both human and non and more ) but sadly the numbers dwindled the last time,
Plus there we complaints from the Northern members about the location, ( it was just off J9 of the M1)
When I tried to assist them getting a more northerly venue, it was a lot harder than the people concerned thought,
and that just turned into an epic fail, sadly.
@dougturner if you have some time, could you please PM me for a little chat about social media strategy? I'd appreciate bouncing some ideas around with someone who gets it!
