photography for beginners

Hi all

im new to photography hopefully be buying a camera in the next couple of days im wonder if there are any good books i can buy to help me out...i'll be mainly animals motorsport and landscape

Also worth having a read through the various tutorial on the forum and watching youtube videos.

Another +1 for Understanding Exposure.

I also recommend the Digital Photography Book by Scott Kelby. This is in it's third incarnation but I would suggest getting Book 1 to begin with as the others expand on some of the themes assuming you have read the original.

Thanks for the information people and just to let you all know i been a bought a 550d today and loving the quality of pictures hopefully I can get some really good pictures
