I've Just picked up "The landscape photography workshop" book off amazon for a tenner new. With me not really knowing where to start on landscapes anyone, I felt this might be a good refresher book to get me back in the swing of things. It explains equipment to techniques and also gives you assignments at the end. I'll give it a read over the next few weeks and post a review possibly.

Anyone else got a fee suggestions on books that might help?

I got around 350 all put onto Adobe reader files the other week. I was thinking of putting them all into my Dropbox for others to share but I don't know if that would infringe copyright. They cover loads of different aspects of photography from legalities to a bit of everything.

Unless the books are in the public domain, it would indeed infringe on copyright. I wouldn't risk that. Authors sell few enough books as it is.

After reading this the other day i ordered a copy it arrived today .I had a quick flick through it and as a total novice i think its a great guide. Thanks to John Mc for the info .

im reading "speedliter's handbook" by syl arena.

I just bought a speedlite and triggers but this book has shown me so much more, its not just how to use speedlites, it teaches you everything about light which i think would be helpful for your landscape work

For inspiration, anything by the late Galen Rowell especially Mountain Light and Galen Rowell's Vision.

I'm half way through it, well, im at filters. But it is a great read. Don't skip anything, I was going to skip the chapters about apertures and shutter speeds but found useful info in it.

I plan to buy a new book every month and utilise what I've learned from reading and put it into practice. The speedlite handbook might be a good purchase. My Girlfriend models now and then and has asked me if I'd start shooting her portfolio for her.To save some cash, but she's aware it'll not be top notch work (not saying im good, but im okay at portraits though could do with the work).

This is the next book i will purchase

Landscape Beyond by David Ward is superb as is First Light-A landscape photographers art by Joe Cornish.

Both of these books follow a similar style in so far as an image on one page followed by how, why, what etc by the authors. The books are full of the most gorgeous images and excellent information.

Michael Freeman has published a whole host of good photography books and another writer I thoroughly enjoy reading is Ross Hoddinott.

Go with the first two I listed, you will not be disappointed :)
