Hi
awaiting delivery of my first android phone. Everyone is going on and on about apps where I work. I know what one is but that's about as far as my knowledge goes.
Are there any photo type apps I could or should get for my phone. Any help is most appreciated
thanks
Steve

Well tp forums have an app for a start as does photobucket you cAn get others such as apps with information on lenses and also if you have NIKON or Canon you can downloads wireless triggers that work through the pc if I remember all for free. Just search though there are thousands of great apps out there for almost anything

just type 'photography' into the Android Market when you get your phone, there are loads of free ones, I use photo tools occasionally and Photoshop Express is pretty good.

Paul.

Retro Camera by URBIAN. The free version has 4 camera effects - Barbl, Orange Box, Polaroid and Pinhole. All rather fun - not too serious.

There is am app that will calculate depth of field for you. There is one that tells the times for sunset and sunrise. The list is endless ;)

I used to have loads that did different things but over time one called Photo Tools had all the functionality added into it so that's the only one I have installed now.

It's this one for the free advert supported version (I have my data turned off unless I'm using it so adverts don't come up for me) or this one for an advert free version priced at £1.80.

IMHO Photoshop to play with your shots a little, and (as above) Urbains Retro Camera is a good use of a few mb :)

DOF Calculator. It's free and very useful in the field. Calculates DOF and hyperfocal distance for any camera-focal length-f-number combination. I use it all the time for landscape shooting.

I second Vignette which I use all the time, and Retro Camera which gets less use but is still nice to have around. I also have GeoTagger which I always forget to use, Picplz for uploading to the photo sharing service of the same name, Camera360 which is almost as good as Vignette but gives you a different set of 'looks', Little Photo which has even more 'looks', and PicSay Pro which I use to edit and post-process my mobile photos. You can also use Vignette and Little Photo to edit and post-process pictures you've taken with any of the camera apps.
