I'm interested to buy some mylar to put at the end of my canon 100-400. To see if I can spot the eclipse due for march this year. But not sure were to find the "right stuff".

Wouldn't welding glass do the job? The arc of a weld is relatively brighter than the sun.

As long as it's the proper grade, yes it will work. However, make sure you've got a foolproof way of keeping it in place.
