Hi all,

I need to photograph some canvases of different sizes for leaflets and website.

I have got to 2 Stella 600w flash units.

Can I use these to light them? Would I need to use the model lamp or the flash with or without softbox?

I’m quite new to photography so any advice would be great.

Thanks

Dan

What are you trying to show in these shots - colour, texture?

Are they in frames, flat, stretched?

What will the largest size be?

They will be stretched and I would like to show the quality of printing. The max size will be 20"x20".

I have started a canvas printing business and need to get leaflets printed and need images for website.

Standard copy lighting:
1 flash head each side, square on in terms of height, and angled at 45 deg so that each one will get perfectly even lighting.

You could use softboxes but standard reflectors will do at least as well and will reveal the texture slightly better.

Ok great, I will give that a go and see what I get.

Thanks for the advice.

Dan
