Photographing at Anfield

I wouldn't take DSLR and lenses just in case they didn't confiscate and just said you can't bring that gear into the ground. Then what do you do?
One or both of you are missing the game. What's more important?

As for the anti Liverpool clichés, can you keep them to yourself please? :nono:

After a little chuckle:naughty:

A few of my mates have become quite trusting of the guys at Old Trafford. DSLR body can go in with you but anything 'long' gets put to one side for collection afterwards. They're only for personal use - sometimes they get them in - sometimes they don't but they've always been returned safe and sound afterwards.

You would get them in if you put them in your girlfriends shoulder bag if your going into a home section of the ground, only go to analfield once a season and the stewards treat away supporters ok but will ask to look in any bags at the away end. Anyway why not Leeds, and as for steunited another stereo typed united fan who supports his local club.... you asked for it

Don't know about Anfield, but at the Emirates they let people take pictures of the players during the warm up (mostly with P&S). I had a small m43 with 14-140 lens, and was told by the stewards (nicely) not to use it during play. They do check your bags before going into the stadium, the stewards let me in the knowing that I have a camera. But not sure what they'd say about bigger DSLRs.

People get so hung up on where when who what why you can use a camera, just take in until you get told you can not use it.

Been to several premiership grounds and the new wembley with my old d60 and my tamron 70-300 had my bag searched every time and nowt said. Even the stewards at man utd kept moving out the way for me when i wanted to take pictures.
Had more hassle at the Valencia f1 testing last month than i have had at a football match.

Seen the stewards jump on a old man when we watched a u17 England quali match at Northampton ground last June.

I was in the Kop-about 20 rows from pitch, (plenty of stewards around) for the Europa qualifier in august, took a d90 with 70-300 after much deliberation, was absolutely fine and had had no probs from anyone but didn't take that many pictures as I did want to just enjoy the game. Can't recommend the tour enough. You get in the dugout for a bit- good kop view and then you walk along the pitch and have a good 10mins in the kop for pictures from there. Good luck if you take it and have a great time.

It would be great if you could get a long zoom that looks like a thermos flask.

You'd have to pay me to go on a Tour of Anfield.

Guess that's your loss then. Though don't go in match day as they do less

I had a slightly worrying moment getting into the away end at Craven Cottage last year with the D70 in my bag. I'd been taking a few photo's around London and the River Thames that morning.

The security man had a good look around the bag but shrugged his shoulders and let me in with it eventually. Once in I didn't use it though. Didn't want to get thrown out after all the effort getting down there.

I'd almost be willing to bet that at least 80% of all threads on internet forums involving either Man Utd or Liverpool FC devolve into slagging matches between the two at some point.

You can the other way round

For christs sake people, we've covered this issue so many times it's just not even funny anymore.

Let me put this plainly and simply:

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PHOTOGRAPH FOOTBALL LEAGUE OR PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL IN ENGLAND UNLESS YOU HAVE A LICENCE ISSUED BY THE FOOTBALL DATACO. WHETHER OR NOT THE STEWARDS LET YOU IN IT IS NOT ALLOWED. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUT THEN YOU WILL LOSE YOUR SEASON TICKET OR BE EJECTED. YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF IN A WORLD OF HASSLE WITH THE FOOTBALL DATACO. JUST BECAUSE YOUR MATES BROTHERS HAIRDRESSERS SON GETS AWAY WITH IT EVERY WEEK DOES NOT MAKE IT OK TO DO THIS. ENJOY THE MATCH, LEAVE THE CAMERA AT HOME.

Just leave em to it.

Reckon you're right...carry on guys, you do what you like, b****r the rules eh? It's your camera you can use it wherever you like!

theres a very nice solid brick wall at the side of my house if you need it james.. wipe the blood away yourself though.... its yours for the day.. knock yerself out:)

Easier to get hold of, less expensive and does the job just as well if not better? Yup, that'd be the one! :D

Ar, you see, the key part is "FOOTBALL LEAGUE OR PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL"; the warm up before the game clearly isn't part of this. As mentioned before, a steward did say not to use the camera during play.

You can try to be as clever as you like with semantics, but you are wrong.

Pardon! Could you speak up please. ;)

can we get a mensa test for people posting in here..... it's not rocket science - rules are rules, you have a choice to abide by or break them. I don't tell my kids not to do something, I tell them the concequences of their actions and let them decide. They have a good outlook on things and can now make informed decions.

Phil.

No you're missing the point about getting camera gear in.

I know you can various thermos flasks that look like lenses.

I said (turning it around) that it would be great if you get a long lens that looks like a thermos flask.

Yup we got that, but as Gary pointed out the opposite way around is more amusing! :D

Doesn't matter. The event is covered by the rules, thats from the moment you enter the ground to the moment you leave. It doesn't matter whether 'you know better', its just the way it is.

As this man said.

This SILLY WOMAN didn't like the rules and fought against them.

She should have followed the rules. We would then be in a much better state in this country.

Women would be in the house bringing up the babies, cleaning and getting my dinner ready.

There would be less households with no-one working as there would be more jobs for the men.

Who the heck was SHE to challenge the rules?

i think this post has run its course let rules are rules weather you agree or not if redmokee wants to take a chance its up to him but the reason i dont put my football league pix out to other papers is its not worth it if you get caught or stopped in this case.

I was off course being flippant.

My whole point about this is that what harm does it do for fans to take a small camera in to record the occassion.

They can't sell their photos to the papers. Yes a tiny minority might try and sell some through flickr.

So what. Why do the clubs and Sky and the FA have to be such money grabbing b*stards all the time.

How about giving something back to the fans who pay the big fat salaries that they all get.

i agree but we could swap and post messages for ever about cameras in sports stadia
its all about images rights etc

Exactly and that is where James and others are correct.

The rules are there to protect (read make even richer) the rights holders.

Hey guys, i didnt mean to stir up a frenzy with my original post.

James sorry if i've made your head hurt (banging it against Gary's wall:D)

I'm gonna take my Iphone 4 and get a few snappy snap snap pics of the stadium and a cheeky video of the best fans in the land.......And Man U fans don't even rise to the bait, we all know Reds fans are the best :D

Cheers guys
