Yes
I'm guilty or taking pictures standing up but in my defence walking home in trousers that are soaked or even froze stiff hours ago does make one question if the art is worth the discomfort.

Its not art if you don't suffer for it :)

That looks like a list he started, then ran out of ideas, as most of them cover the same issue. I've never been overly careful, nor overly rough with my gear. What I'm guilty of is simply not making use of it as much as I should. There are days when the weather is perfect, I've got my bike there, everything charged up and ready, kids off playing or at school - and I choose not to go shooting! .Just lazy at times.

I have to agree, that is my problem

May or may not be a sin, but I do tend to take too many photographs. I also tend to rush at times and not study the scene.

Oohhhh, another one, I watch/read wwwaaayyyy too many photography articles/tutorials/interviews rather than getting out there.

Cheers.

I am a big fan of Thom too and find his down-to-earth outlook very refreshing.

I think my biggest sin is being in too much of a hurry and failing to look around the frame, check the exposure, etc., before I hit the shutter release. I'm also guilty of letting my hand holding technique slip sometimes, resulting in too many out of focus/blurry shots.

What it would be like to be perfect, eh?

Depends I guess what subjects/genre you shoot as to whether or not you've got the time to examine the hell out of the entire scene.

Can maybe pushing the button lots with lots of variation around the same shot make up for careful consideration? Or maybe the crop and clone tool in photoshop. Maybe with digital it can... much to the chagrin of the "old skool" types of course :)
