I thought I'd post this link here.... it kind of got buried in the middle of another thread and I think it's too important to get lost! Worth printing off a copy and sticking it in your camera bag.....

It pretty much gives the low down on what you can and cannot do photographically in the UK.... very important in this ridiculously Political Correct day and age we've become accustomed to these days. Although, I do find these PC things impinge on my personal rights and duties than ever before! (who said they were correct any way? ) .... Must be getting older :(

Anyway, the link ...... Photographer's Rights

nice one chuckles ill pop that into my bag .. you never know..

A handy document to read through for sure. How much practical use it would be when faced with a "jobsworth" who is determined that you are doing something wrong though I don't know.....getting someone who is already angry to either hang on while you drag out the document and find the relevant bit, or read it themselves, would be fairly tricky I would think.

Clears up what the restrictions are on taking pics of kids too....basically zilch unless that child is involved in any legal proceedings in any capacity. :)

Will at some stage get the other half to read through it and check that nothing has changed since '04.

I was rather thinking that you'd be more aware of what your rights were before you embarked on an activity rather than use it as a dynamic document. Always better to be prepared! ;)

I didn't envisage you having it your bag to argue your case every opportunity, just more a case of having it to hand!

I don't think much has changed since 2004 except more of us are being harangued about taking or not taking a photo!

And remember, even the Police need a Court Order to confiscate or force you to delete images, once taken.
