Photographer questioned by Police

Another complete load of bo****s. If I was a "law breaker" I'd make sure my car was 100% legal, anything else would be just stupid, and don't kid yourself, BIG criminals aren't stupid (greedy maybe, but not stupid).

I've had small plates on my bikes for years and never been fined. As long as it's reasonable (not a letter box plate) and you're taking the p1ss 99% of coppers don't care.

I got asked to remove an amber headlamp cover once, he wasn't worried about the full race system, my black visor, or my small plate, never even mentioned them.....

Sorry, I digress :rules:

1st I was saying the law breaker bit tongue in cheek although you are breaking it! (this is a £30 fine no points offence though!)

2nd the amber headlight cover is LEGAL the rest isn't ! (you must display a white or yellow light to the front) The big push on number plates is nationwide and has only really been running for the last couple of months. (some forces have had this as a local target though). Soon it will be an MOT requirement to have 100% legal number plates inc BS approval mark.

Lens cover was amber, not yellow. Yellow & white only to the front, so I'm told. As for the plate being an MOT failure, so's my exhaust, I just put the std end can on come MOT day :shrug:

Amber=yellow re headlight cover.

MOT re motorcycle exhausts has reverted to the hearing test so long as the exhaust is not stamped "not for road use" or similar.

As for taking the number plate off and putting on a smaller one just for the MOT - why bother, but like I said the number plate issue has never really been much of an issue until recently. It IS the latest hot potato.
