When and in what situation would the model pay the photogrpaher or when would the photogrpaher pay the model

Here's a link to my work. I'm 15 years old! Lindsayperezphoto.co.uk

If a photographer wants to shoot a model, they will pay them, could be in money, prints or maybe some other form of payment.

In what little experience I have, I would say that models generally wont pay photographers. You might find an agency and publisher that will pay.

As above, clients pay photographers.

A client might be however, a model requiring a portfolio.

But often nowadays, photographers, MUA's, stylists and models work collaboratively for portfolio building.

Very impressive photography on your site.

Hi Will, you certainly have a talent (as many others have already said). However having looked at your site I feel you may be doing yourself a dis-service. When I looked at the "About" page, the first thing (in bold) that you mention is related to your age. As many have said your skill belies your age, you should let the work speak for itself rather than risk someone questioning your ability/age (someone asked on another thread, what help you'd had etc). The second point is your pricing, your wedding prices look incredibly low and although you mention that the time also includes processing, if you were to ask my luddite brother-in-law, he would take that to mean downloading from the card and copying to a memory stick. In his eyes, he would see your cost as about £350 for the day. Given your ability I would have put your true value much higher. Just my thoughts. Either way you certainly have a bright future ahead

Photographers pay models 'cos they enjoy photographing models or because they want something particular for their portfolio. Or occasionally to submit something for stock.
Clients pay photographers for a job - who may need to employ a model for that job.

Established models rarely pay photographers for portfolio work. There are a lot of very talented photographers eager to work with experienced models for trade.
New models sometimes pay for portfolio work, but only 'cos they don't know where to find those talented photographers - and in fact there is a whole industry dedicated to ripping off wannabees.

PurplePort is the best UK model / photographer networking site but has rules around age limits.

Things get a bit different when agencies get involved.

His Chris

This is awsome advice and some which I will deffinelty take forward and put into action.

Yes a few other have said this that my age could be losing me jobs as many see it as a way of just getting a cheap job however in other ways it is an advantage in relation to my work.

I agree with you, I should just let my work speak for it's self and let my age jot be an issue.

Thanks man
