This is a popular place for photographers (Holyrood Park in Edinburgh) as it's a great viewpoint for sunsets and city views.
Not something you really think about (although I always try to be aware of people around me etc) until you read about something like this happening.
Have always felt reasonably safe going there on my own, usually a few other people about - students (halls of residence nearby) as well as other walkers, joggers, tourists etc. Will be a bit more wary from now on...

Although a bit of an odd time to be out photographing as it was raining that night and also over 2 hours past sunset.
But anyway, just a reminder to be careful when out taking photos on your own, especially at night (not just in Edinburgh of course, but anywhere).
