Photographer accused..

Simple solution:

Just sew in a bigger, padded pocket! Then, when they say "that camera is too big, it doesn't fit in a pocket" -you can just go "look here, *puts camera in extra large pocket* see! it fits!"

I hear this happens to a lot of photographers all over the country.. They never accuse people with compact cameras yet they can get quite expensive.. Its just us DSLR users isn't it :( I am going to get my reciepts printed and laminated and carry them with me.. that will show them..

Do you think I should.. Or am I being a bit Paranoid ?

My first thought is that YOU completely jumped to conclusions. It doesn't sound like he was accusing you of stealing at all!

Going off at a slight tangent - did anyone see the program on BBC2 last night "Who's Watching You?". There was a segment about CCTV in playschools/nurseries that had a security flaw meaning anyone could watch the children over the internet. It took all of 30 seconds before the P word was mentioned by "paranoid" parents. If these people stopped and thought for a second they'd end up keeping their kids locked up indoors and ripping their own eyes out as they can't trust anyone.

Honestly, the world is a lost cause... someone hit reset for crying out loud.
 
Nagh didnt see it.. but not suprised.. the only thing that suprises me is how many people are shocked by the obvious.. Its the way things are.. we aint gonna change it.. we just have to live with it.. expect it and be prepared... I dont like it either.. dont like it at all. but I ahve come to terms wiht it. I have my patter ready :)
 
I often find people asking how much a camera like mine would cost (40D with 17 55 2.8)
I just tell them it is middle of the road, so they are still none the wiser.

I never had this question asked in film days, SLR, medium or large format.
It seems to have become an offshoot of the digital age.
 
I have just edited my original post for all the people who read that then answer without even reading the thread they are contributing to. :)
 
So your camera looks cheap then?
 
You shouldn't have to prove anybody, There very very jealous. It's never happened to me, But i do get people asking me wow those are expensive cameras.
