I think we really have to stop looking at this as a reportage style photograph and see it as an image made partially using the photographic medium as part of the creation technique.

Personally her work doesn't appeal to me but then I don't like dead cows in formaldehyde

This is the part of photography that escapes me - the artistic bit. Looking at the photo I would have regarded it as mediocre.

Is it worth the price? Yes. Simply because someone bought it.
