I put the photos I wish to post on forums and my website on photobucket, but for some reason virginmedia keeps classing this as a dangerous site and shutting photobucket down, sometimes in the middle of an upload, sometimes when I'm just browsing. Any ideas anyone ?

I use photobucket for work all the time. I have never had a warning about the site. Just tried logging on now with no problems. Is it possibly your upload material

There are other photo sharing sites such as flickr . I only use photobucket for our eBay shop wouldn't use it for sharing photos on here, its too limiting.

Working fine for me. But, I find that the quality seems to suffer when hosted on PB. Not so much on Flickr though!

Its nothing untoward, only model boats, photos of birds (the feathered kind) and landscapes, its only started doing it the last week.

Have you got some sort of parental control switched on? Perhaps dangerous means not suitable for children rather than full of nasties :)
I use Photobucket with TalkTalk and have no problems, apart from the quality issue mentioned above.

If you upload images bigger than 1024 px, PB may shrink them, if you don't have a "Pro" account.

Not too bothered about that kind of shrinkage, but the quality is a biggy. Still, for a free service, cant complain and the pro (BT) account on Flickr is all I need.

I've not noticed PB shrinking (or otherwise compressing) images smaller than 1024 on the longest side, but as pointed out, if you want to use larger images then you need a pro account.

Yes, and my point was, that if you upload a size, that won't be resized, the quality is also unchanged...
