Hi all, i'm using Photobucket at the mo to upload my photos on to TP but they don't look as good after being upload to TP so was thinking if it could be to do with photobucket. A friend of mine said he finds flickr better a site to use as anybody got any thoughts on this. Thanks kev

I've got both, very rarely go on pb, quite like flickr though
Why not give the free version a go?

I think I will give it a go how do you upload onto here from flickr Thanks for the quick response.

Use the Share menu to grab BBCode for the size you want to post

You can store literally thousands of photos for free on photobucket . . . but only the first 200 for free on Flickr and then a monthly fee if you want to add any more. Well, that's what I found out when I tried to get involved with the latter.
I have over 1500 images averaging 800 x 600 in size over seven years in PB and still going strong without paying a single penny, it's also better laid out and easier to "grab" the links whereas I found Flickr to be rather on the clunky side (perhaps its just me).

I pay for flickr - it's $24.95 a year which translates to about £15.50 currently. Or yes, 200 latest for free.

Fores and againsts of each - flickr butchers pictures less in my opinion, has more of a community, I like the layout. I personally use it for a select amount of photos whereas I use PB as a dumping ground (well... or FB nowadays). Each year I do wonder if flickr is really worth £15, then I pay it and forget for a year, so... doesn't break the bank.

Ultimately all seem to never show it quite as well as on your PC though, as when you upload there is compression etc, so I'd use it free for a few months 1st.

I pay for the pro account on Flickr, it's dirt cheap really. It's basically another back up, as you can download your own full res files when you have the pro acc. Also, you're not restricted. I find my images look fine on there. 100 times better than FB at least.

Photobucket? People still use that?

And remember if you have BT broadband you get Flickr Pro account for free. :)

Pro account on Flickr for anything I want to preserve quality on and PB for things like classifieds pics and other non 'collection' stuff.

Flickr, although I only realised a short while ago that the non pro account has a 200 image limit. It also does not allow exif to be displayed without going to the flickr site, which is causing some frustration for pro members :D

I might just start using photobucket too, rather than imageshack which was my #2

Here and Here Only you can decide ;)

Flickr is far superior, much nicer to use, look at and be sociable on.

Nice tip about BT Broadband, any idea if that's for existing Flickr account holders too? Switching from Sky to BT soon and had Flickr for years.
