This offer looks top johnny banana AdWright  - I have never ordered anything like this & would like to get a few of my pics done - Without sounding too thick what is the best size to go for (biggest?) or does it depend on the image / quality etc - What do they print onto i.e. what quality paper can you expect - Any help greatly appreciated ... Paul ;)
PS - Should this thread not be in the Bargains Forum?
If it matters what type of pic here is one of the ones I was considering having done "super-size" ...

If you're going to frame behind glass, go for the matte finish.

In terms of quality, the more pixels the merrier for the large prints.

Last time the offer was on, I had this pic printed at 30"x20" and it looks great. Taken with my 20D and submitted at full res (8.2MP), I think it worked out at 200dpi.

Just make sure you can get a frame for the size you have printed.

Good point markp - AdWright did you frame yours & is 30x20 easy to get frames for?
Paul ;)

Nice try Janice but no Range Stores near me unfortunately - I just need to know if the 30x20" size is a "standard" one that I will easily be able to pick up some frames for or if I'd be better with a different standard size (A2 or whatever)
Paul ;)

I bought a 30 x 20 inch labelled frame at the range and it is actually made to metric sizes - 700mm x 500mm picture size. Meant taking the scissors to my print but it wasn't a problem in this case.

Don't like the sound of that :nono: - Me & scissors not a good combination :cuckoo: - Lots of places around that'll do a custom frame I suppose if needs be (?) ... Paul ;)

Ikea do frames suitable for a 30x20 print. The only thing to check is the cut-out size as you might need to add a border to your print, unless you want to lose a cm or so behind the mount.

Yeah, don't do what I did... I spent a fortune on a 1m x 1m print and can't get a frame anywhere for it :bang:

Min - Exactly what I'm trying to avoid :bonk:

Thanks strax - wifey has suggested a smaller size print after discussing where we could actually hang them in our titchy bungalow :embarrassed:

Paul ;)

One bit of advice when frame hunting..............taketh a tape measure! :D

I might live to regret saying this (if the prints turn out to be rubbish :embarrassed:) but I decided to sign up to Photobox today & found when I did that I was eligible for 30 free 6"x4.5" prints  - I uploaded some pics & put in an order for 18 of my 30 free ones & they have processed & dispatched my order already  - That's what I call service  - Just got to decide what large size prints to go for now :help:
Paul ;)

They are certainly quick. I uploaded 100 shots at 10:45 one night.
At 11:15 I got an email saying it had been dispatched.

Shame there isnt a post at that time of night so they in fact took another 2 days.

Ask for a calibration print along with your order. If you match your monitor to this...all your prints with them will look ok... mine match perfectly.

Janice - Thanks for the tip about calibration  - good to hear good service appears to be the norm - slightly OT I was looking at FastFrames (.co.uk) for A3 size frames & they look good price & quality wise - Any dealings with them (Janice or anyone?)
Paul ;)

Paul dunno if you got sorted with frames or not, but I have recently contacted Frametastic, a local company based in Aldershot. I have a quote for my 1m x 1m frame and it is much cheaper than anywhere else.

Cheers min - I haven't got sorted but "we" have decided to go & look at some frames (probably at the hell that is B&Q :gag:) - happy days :help:
