Photobooks

A friend asked me about photobooks the other day - I heard that photobox's weren't that good. Is that true?

Has anyone had any done - what was the quality like and where did you get them?

I had a couple done for christmas from Photobox, of our daughter for the grandparents and were really pleased with them. I haven't seen others from different companies so I can't compare.

Had one done for my wedding pics and the quality seemed ok to me, again though I haven't ordered from elsewhere to compare.

they also have an offer on at the moment.

I can recommend fotobooK have had 4 books from them all of good quality, but i've only ever had the natural linen with gold lettering on the front cover not tried leather.

They also got the gold award from Digital Photo Magazine last year when they did a review of the photo books.

Customer service has also been good.

Never had a book from Photobox but they have a 2 for 1 offer on until the end of the month.

Hope this helps

Lee

I've had a few from photobox and the quality seems pretty good to me, never had any complaints from the people buying them.

What are the costs like folks?

Ok silly question... is a photobook just really you asking a company to print your photo's and put them in an album for you? or is there more to it than that?

The ones from Fotobook normally cost me £38 which is about 40 odd pages. I then have gold lettering on the front which is £8.

So £46 including delivery.

The pages of the book are the photos.

What you do is add you photos to a chosen page template and build up the book, and once you happy they print it and bind it and send it back to you.

I've had several done at Photobox and ppl have really liked them and bought some. Costs start at 18 quid for 30 pages, 50p for adding another 2 pages.

As someone up above said, they've got a 2 for 1 offer for August.

Hey guys you need to do them yourselves! i.e. try scrapbooking. See my blog if you have no idea on what I'm talking about!!

At Photobox they're buy one get one free at the moment. You might need an 'offer code' though.

Not ordered one myself but I'm sure I've heard Barry & Marrianne talking about these:thinking:

Hopefully they'll be along later

What a super idea, i had no idea that this could be done,
i'll be getting a couple of these's soon.

I have had a portfolio of some work done in a book which i produced in iPhoto 06 the quality is amazing on par with any other normal books. There are various styles and I choose to just have it plain and simple one image on the right page but you could pack the book and put notes on as well. Very good for the money.
