I'm looking to get a photobook done of my holiday photos and was wondering if anyone had had any experience with any places offering these? I have about 70 photos to go in it, and ideally would like a hardback, but obviously don't want to spend a fortune on it!

Photobox one's are ok, but i think they've gone a bit downhill with their printing recently. The app they have for making the book is also very restrictive with layouts. But they're a reasonablish price i guess.

So, has anyone had any experience of any photobooks as i need to sort this out ASAP :)

Thanks

Look at Shutterfly - their stuff is great too and not too expensive either :)

I've used Jessops/Snapfish's Memory book and the hardback one is particularly nice.

I'm semi tempted to try Asuka Books as you get 50% off your first book, brining it down to a sensible price... not sure yet though, as they just give you PhotoShop templates and you do everything yourself.

Just to let you all know (i can tell you're interested!), i haven't actually finished the book yet, but am getting prices. It's fair to say that the UK distributer for Asuka books is NOT cheap! I can't really quote prices as you're meant to be a pro and sign up to get them. Though imagine £100+ for a 60side book, and i'm not even sure if that's including VAT or not... i wouldn't be surprised if it was ex VAT

I use Photobox. Lay out each page individually in Photoshop with text and then upload them as full page images - then you can choose your own layout.

I might use PhotoBox, but i've never been that convinced by their books. They're great for the price, but i want something a little more special :)

I've printed a few style books with photobox and I've been impressed with the finish on them. They had a 3 for 2 offer last week :)

American Color Imaging. I'm not sure whether they ship outside the US, but their product is just as good as Asuka at half the cost. They also have ridiculously fast turn around. I generally receive my books one week after I upload the order.

The do have templates for design purposes as well, and their customer service is fabulous.

Apologies if this isn't allowed but....

There was an offer on the Pixalo forums for a free booklet worth £5.99 the other week with MyCeWE. Haven't used it yet, but was planning on trying the booklet and then if it was OK, sorting out a "best of" and ordering a book off of them...

Try this.

You download software and do the design off line, then upload when you order. I haven't tried it myself but it was in my favourites so I expect it was something I must have heard was quite good. :D

I would recommend them....I've had several books from these guys and everyone I've given them to have loved them. Although i've had the natural cover with gold lettering.

They got the DigialPhoto gold award aswell when they reviewed photobooks last year.
