Yes
I have a Project planned where I shoot environmental portraits of some local artists for a book and I would like to be able to give them a PDF version on completion with the option to buy a copy of the print version.

Can anyone recommend a good site that offers this kind of service?

Blurb.com

Yes I think that Blurb offer a downloadable pdf version of your uploaded book for a modest fee. Another method is to design the book yourself as a pdf, which you then upload to print, but you need a page layout program, and a way of exporting a pdf from it, and the pdf has to comply with a certain set of properties & protocols, so it's a learning curve for the novice ...

The Blurb plug-in for Lightroom allows a .pdf copy to be produced before sending the album off for hard printing. No page layout program needed.

That sounds handy - I'll catch up with the modern world eventually ...

Though there's nothing like a hands-on approach to page design for precision & flexibility, compared to modules and plug-ins.

At the end of this week Loxley are going to be relaunching there coffee table books, half current pricing and two day service

... Ordering is through ldp which supports pdf proofs for clients

Thanks guys , will investigate these options

Again blurb have been good in the past for me.. quite reasonable too.. Loxely would be another more expensive option

Blurb books don't open very flat. And it's not 'real' photo printing ... but it's pretty good.

Loxley coffee table books are now live at new prices, less than half previous prices and two day leadtime

Have used blurb for holiday Snaps but wanted something a little more professional looking, will investigate the Loxley option.
Thanks

Just received back some pictures from Loxley who I have used for the first time. I decided to use them after reading this link. Absolutely delighted with the end product and speed of service. 100% thumbs up from me... I had a couple of 20" x 10" skyline shots done so can't comment on the photobooks, but can only imagine they are quality.

any rough idea what price the loxley coffee table books start at.
