Photo52 2012 : Join In !!! : Week 52 Busy

are we still doing week 40 as sooc then? I'm confused

I think it's up to each individual to decide. I personally will wait and see what the theme is and go from there. If doing sooc stops me from getting the result I want then I won't be doing it. In the case of my "straight" picture it could not have been achieved without pp. Some weeks I use very little pp and others a lot.

Sorry if this offends anyone!!

offends? lol don't be daft missus :p

Disposable camera, oh bummer how can I take 400 shots in the hope of one decent one? :help:

This sounds sooo like me....SOOC is quite scary but a good challenge...I'm certainly using pp way loads more than I used to,be interesting to see what I can manage without the help of pse:eek:

Why should it offend ? Tis possibly what most are thinking anyway plus....having named week 40 as SOOC week it's almost a dead cert to the one week where pp is compulsory / inevitable

I mentioned the challenge that yV has started as a possible solution to the RAWv jPeg issue of sharpening . I cannot be bothered setting the camera to shoot both as I'll inevitably forget to reset it :bonk:

I'm gonna buy a disposable this weekend & start practicing & if I have any success at all may well use one for the SOOC week as well as the D7000

Morning all  I seem to have missed a few flows, will get round to them at some point. I have got some painting to do and sort a load of stuff out before our holiday in a couple of weeks from today. Time is going too fast :help:

Anyway looking forward to this weeks theme

Friendship,,,,,eek, this is the first one for a long time that hasn't appealed to me off the bat. Might be a nice minimal approach.

Don't forget the TP end of project meet .....

Cheers.

Nearly week 40 and I have no idea what to do about my friendship photo :shake: Even with an idea in mind I can't visualize it and I just can't seem to get my inspiration or creative juices going! So unless I can think of something tonight, I will have to be posting double in week 40

:help:

No idea here either! Not had a chance either with my silly shifts!

I posted twice this week anyway and I'm still behind :bonk:

Fingers crossed for a nice 'imaginative' theme tomorrow!

Change.... Liking this one. Plenty off opportunities... Just look out of here windows :-)
I know, in fact I had this idea before I saw the theme :)
Now to figure out how to shoot it SOOC for best results:thinking:

Ooffff just got back from my first attempt and SOOC is not easy!!

Kept reminding myself I can't level, boost, blur, etc in post. Also forget I shoot auto WB!

I'll post what I got and possibly a PP version.

Cheers.

....I do recall saying that week 40's theme would be crying out for pp.......done my shot & can't wait to run it through pse though I will post a SOOC...& just for Andy I won't even sharpen it

I'm still pondering as to why we're doing this ? I understand it makes us think more about composition , angles etc but if shooting outdoors lighting is something you'd struggle to alter/work round , plus the camera can't faithfully reproduce what your eye see's when your shooting with extremes of light & dark.....thats why pp was invented

Andy mentioned WB....in these dull autumn days I shoot shady wb...should I have gone to auto ? Though technically it's still SOOC ?
Someone explain it me please...I'm getting a headache thinking about it :p

I have no frikin idea :bonk:

Regarding WB, if you are not going to edit the WB in post you should set for the lighting conditions you are photographing in. I shoot auto WB all the time.

Cheers.

Lynne I'm using it as a practice at getting everything right in camera for once! I'm one that LOVES doing PP as there are some amazing plugins out there, however I am guilty of repeatedly taking photos and saying to myself 'I'll sort that out in Photoshop' It's very rare I take a shot that only needs the basic RAW tweaks!

I've rescued many a crap shot in PP!

mostly my pp is crop straighten sharpen (maybe) desaturate, so shouldn't be too hard for me. I wonder why so much pp is used tbh (maybe that's because I don't/can't use RAW and only have gimp or picasa to play with lol)

Theme?

Theme theme theme theme?
