Not sure what to make of this week's theme. It's an interesting one, but I'm wondering who was responsible for coming up with that one :thinking:
 
Ones things for sure, there will be a wide variety of subjects this week rather than 50 pictures of tree roots!
 
Handmade? Another (potentially) literal one. I think I'll just re-submit my industry shots!

as soon as I saw it my head filled with dozens of ideas - which is not good tbh lol

also I'm guessing handmade is not the same as homemade :p

This reminds me of a parody of an advert some years ago which went something like; " our food is untouched by human hands...... It's packed by monkeys"
 
so all I have to do is persuade the finance director at work to bring his Morgan in for a photo shoot :lol:

as my grandad used to say - there's 2 hopes of that, and one is Bob :p

Hi Mike,

Way, way back in the mists of time (well 2009) when the first themed 52 was set up, Simon who was running it back then started a thread asking for suggestions for themes. At that time he was only doing it as his own personal project and he had no idea how well it would take off.

He wrote all the themes on cards and put them into a bag so that he could pick them out at random. We're still going with that batch of themes (there were enough there to last us for a few years) and I still have the original bag. It's literally a case of putting my hand in the bag and pulling a card out every week - I have absolutely no idea what's in there, so it's as much a surprise for me as it is for everyone else.

If there's the appetite for another round in 2013, I may well be asking for suggestions for a new list of themes though.
 
Hi all have just started a 52 and realised I hadn't posted before hope no one minds. Have had the camera a couple of months and really want to improve and this forum has been a great help so far.
 
Hi I started the 52 to get better at using my camera and in 8 weeks I think I have come on leaps and bounds so enjoy the 52 and learn loads!

Thanks Sarah, as a newbie it's really interesting to hear how it all started.

I have to say am finding the project inspiring and can say for sure it has already improved my photography.
Only problem is it does tend to dominate my photography that week, In fact I think I can honestly say I haven't taken a single photo of which I am truly proud so far this year that wasn't 52 Photo related...
