Photo52 2011 - Wk 48 Cute added

Ok Neil, how about this?

Nice and bright. But the brightness is cancelled out by the miserable look on the woman's face..., either that or it's part of the story....;)

I like how the child is looking up at his mum and saying "Mummy, can I have a carry?".

They're pretty close to the edge/going out of the frame. I suspect stepping back would result in a wet Tina??

I bet there was a nice photo opportunity of the wheel, or maybe a nice close up of the pendants?

Cheers.

Hiya Tina,

Indeed there are a lot of bright colours there to fit the theme.

Bet you had a great time. Did you get many photos of the event?

Well done

Cheers

Dawn :)

I was with a by then, hungry, daughter so couldn't make the most of the opportunity. Stepping back just littered the image with folk rushing through with various boring brollies!

Hi Tina

If im being honest I think you could have done better with the shot... I think if you are going with that angle then the crop is just to tight... or the angle is not wide enough! You've been a butcher... a man and a child have half feet... the woman to the left has been thirded... I think the shot would have been just that bit better that bit wider...

Or from a completely different angle altogether... just getting a close up of some of the bright details on the wagon for example... something abstract with the wheel spokes!

I know it was ****ing down... and rain makes things real hard... but for me this is a nearly shot... More good than bad though!

So it still gets a GOOD WORK!!!!

Take care,

Mark

Thanks Mark. I must admit to having disappointed myself with the results i got there.

On reflection I should have got in closer and I was too timid. I still am shay about photographing. Silly I know but there you are! I'll get over it...or die (of old age) attempting to ;)

Really nice BRIGHT colours , good shot at first I thought there was too much saturation but I think its just perfect on my monitor anyway

Tina, i seriously feel that you needed to pull out not move in.. i would like to have seen more of the wheel and less of the lady on the LHS, maybe scooped round to the left and made more of that than the family..but rain does make a difference to teeing up a shot. still very bight though..

Thanks guys

I need to try harder ;)

tina..don't try harder... just relax.. practise is probably the key..street photos though i guess can't be staged that easily... so you're doing good. better than i dare... people see me pointing a camera at them and the only shot i get is the boyfriend stalking over in my direction...

which tonight..i'm getting too much of .. none of my shots are coming out right... and these are static pieces... damn they keep moving so much...or is it me..

anyhow..try to get too much in and you can crop later.. if you cut something off..its hard to stitch or clone it back in... i think... though i'm no dr frankenstein...

Nice and bright colours. You've done well on a dismal day..

Try shoting older people - they can't chase as easily ;) Either that or stop stalking young ladies with huge boyfriends.... :D

Hi Tina, been struggling to keep up lately but have had a chance to drop in and have a look.

Bright: Theres deffo alot of bright colours going on there!

Broken: A nice subject and well exposed. Did you have any other vantage points that might have givena better composition?

Hidden: I relly like this as it makes me want to see what is on the other side. Like the DOF that adds to the shot.

Twisted: Another well exposed shot with a nice warm soft feel.

Looking forward to seeing more over the coming weeks.

Thanks Kev

tina...i hope i took my own advice last weekend... and got some crazy shots that i added to my TP52 thread, converted to mono for that gritty look.. and i found.. its not how close you get, but how close AND how framed you get your target...

..and don't just take 1 photo... snap a couple..

some else i found for really good street photography was to walk away without looking at the target.. ... look for the next shot.. people quickly forget they were taken... or get grumpy :D

Thanks Ciaran, I could have got a different perspective on Broken and you are right to point this out. I tend to pick a position and then stick there, or very near by.

Glad you liked the other shots

I think your advise on walking away without a backward glance could well be a good idea :D I need to take more shots at a time and move about for differing perspectives.

Hiya Tina, nice to see you back. Good shot for smell, you have done well considering the harsh light you were faced with.

Thanks Michael, I took a pile of shots of that cow but blew all the whites to some degree. I needed the filter that was back home :$ Aren't they always?

Hiya Tina,

Indeed welcome back

Like the shot for 'smell' .... looks like it could do with a nose trimmer

Great detail of the snout and considering the harsh light I think you have done well.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Glad to see you're still hanging on in here Tina.. & what a great catch up

Love your image for Sensual....beautiful , great DOF & you've captured the delicate colors really well  Possibly crop a bit tighter & lose the little water droplets lower right but thats a minor neg...really great in my eye's..well done

Weird....very apt for the theme, great color & DOF...was that blur added in pp? Keep looking at the shot cos somethings niggling me but can't put my finger on it...poss a little noisey & the bright spot on the left leaf ?

Not sure I see the Evolution connection...being a bit dim tonight I think but as it's a horse ( my fave animal)I have to say great shot

Celebrate...doing what dogs love to do & you're right...they do know how to celebrate life...shame the focus on the 2nd pooch isn't quite on his face but you def get a sense of movement & their excitment from the shot

Great catch up shots...keep going ...it's all downhill to week 52 now :D

Sensual
I like the sensual shot, it has a grainy look to it which I'm not sure is intentional or not, but it works. I'd even go as far to say that a little more grain would be an idea, to try and give it a canvas painting feel. The composition is great, but may be a little off the bottom, say half way between the bottom of the frame an the edge of the leaves? Can't agree with Lynne on the water drops, I think they should defo stay.

Celebrate
Sorry, but the OOF dog ruins it for me.

Weird
The leaf cluster is certainly weird, but there is something going on with the background. Is it in camera or a bit of PP?

Evolution
It's a lovely shot of the horse, it's position in the frame is good. I agree that a coat probably isn't needed this time of year, but I cannot see the evolution connection in the shot. Conclusion, nice shot, but it doesn't say evolution.

Wind
I like this shot, the DOF the sign, it's all good, apart from the roof in the BG. I find it a little distracting and would be tempted to clone it out. With the BG being so OOF, a clone should be easy. Some motion blur of the wheat blowing in the wind would be good, but hey, whose complaining if there is no wind.

Record
I think I would have been tempted to wait a little longer before posting this one!

Overall, well done you for catching up, is that you up to date now?
Oh, and have you seen our 52 meet thread?

I have a horror of overcropping but I think you are right it needs some.

All you see in this is what I got with a little balance and sharpening (probably the root of the noise? This was taken as handheld, in that I held the twig in one hand and camera in the other, dogs on the lead between my knees, so maybe some movemet got in

Not sure I see the Evolution connection...being a bit dim tonight I think but as it's a horse ( my fave animal)I have to say great shot

My link to evolution is that if we constantly rug horses will they lose their ability to use their own coats to regulate their temperatures? But glad you like it ;)

Celebrate...doing what dogs love to do & you're right...they do know how to celevrate life...shame the focus on the 2nd pooch isn't quite on his face but you def get a snese of movement & their excitment from the shot

It wasn't till I looked again now that I realised I'd missed Bobby in focus :( More haste less speed?

Thanks for your time, I feel a bit closer to up to date now :)

As I said to Lynne, the graininess is probably due to me being heavy with the sharpening, I might try your suggestion and see what it looks like

Me too now I look

I'll refer you to my answer to Lynne here ;)

Glad you like the image and understand you don't make the link to evolution, it is a bit tenuous I suppose :$

A clone ...hmmmm not got enough software on this machine...yet....:naughty:

Must look to the 52 meetup I haven't spotted that thread yet...

Hiya Tina, a good catch up! Most of the stuff I would have said has been covered really. I really like the wind shot, how about a panoramic style crop, so you lose the sky and roof, I think it would look good and work well.
