Photo52 2011 - Join In !!! - Week 52 and special bonus out now -

i have gotten so engrossed with things almost forgot to do this weeks shot....????

[Insert smilie for banging head with frying pan]

:hug2: Thanks all and Merry Christmas to all of you still hanging in there !!!
Only 2 more weeks to go now.

I'm hoping that some of you'll give it another go next year and I'm sorry for not being as active as I would have liked in all your threads. It's been a horrendous year work-wise as well as some personal stuff, but hopefully next year things will calm down and I'll get a bit more camera time as well as forum time :D

Thanks very much Sarah!

So, got to do talk and weather this week, I am hoping for more chances this coming week for photographing!

I might get to give my new little lens an outing too :D

michael... you been buying stuff as well andy by the sounds of it... i'm saving ma pennies for a 16-35 or 24-70 as i want the 2.8 option...

Yep, spent my birthday money and brought myself with a nifty fifty 1.8. Been wanting one for a while, got it for £72 in Best buys closing down sale. I want to upgrade my 18-55 too and I need a flash! Lottery win is needed

Hiya Sarah,

Thank you for the new theme .... I doubt it should be a problem to get a photo of same in this country .... now just waiting for some snow :D

Cheers

Dawn :)

Nice one. It really is a cracking lens: super fast focus, great shallow DOF and cheap. (y)

What you looking to upgrade your 18-55 to? 1st lens I bought was a 55-200 and I really wish I'd bought a 18-200 :shake:

Everything I do now is nifty fifty....I feel out of place with my 100-400 .... But I have to say the 50 is brilliant as well as versatile...

17-70 siggy has been in my mind, or tamron 17-50 2.8, but I want extra on the long end, also in my mind is canons 15-85, piggy needs filling up a lot though...

Looking forward to using it, had no time to take any pics with it yet. (y)

All this talk about new lenses is making me jealous.

I love the DOF of my nifty fifty, but the focal range of my 18-105 kit lens gives me the versatility I need. So I'm looking at the Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f2.8 XR Di, although I wish I could stretch to something that can reach 200. I've got a thread on TP looking for other options, no doubt more money though!

As Isabelle keeps saying, "Do it....do it....do.it....!"

Then hide...

:D

arrrrgh! I'm now 2+1 weeks in arrears and my brain is empty. The van that is my pride and joy is broke, the dealers are ...vanishing...Christmas is coming and what do I get for my mother?..and I can't get my brain organised and my body want to hibernate, what remains of my brain would join in...and....you get a picture here?

So I have to do volume, talk and now...weather

For hardened read 'I was sane when I started 2011 TP 52, now I'm not sure ;)'

Good look. Think of ideas for a few says. Plan your photographs. Reshoot, if needed. Think outside the box, on occasion. Comment on others 52 photographs. Learn from the feedback. Take criticism on the chin. Mostly ENJOY it :)

Cheers.

The idea of this is so awesome that I want to wait till 2012 to see if I can try and become a hardened 52'er.

....many commit to start, few post til the end

For hardened read 'I was sane when I started 2011 TP 52, now I'm not sure ;)'.

the last quarter has seen my photography go from 'married couple of 26 yrs ..if you're lucky and its your birthday.. ;)' .. to 'Han and Chewie making the jump to light speed... (y)'

...most of all listen to the critique, learn from the critique...but also post your shots in other forum areas to get a wider opinion.... because by the end your thread will develop ninja skills :naughty:

Only 1 more week to go - and it looks like it's quite a seasonal theme. I'll post the 52nd and final week a little early next week (Thursday / Friday) to give you all chance to go out and shoot something before Christmas if you want to.

Thanks, Sarah.I have a very seasonal idea for this one.

Cheers.

Hiya Sarah,

Thanks for posting the new theme .... am I reading it correct as Week 47 was 'Reshoot and/or Light'

I like the fact that it has come up again, especially with Christmas and Lights abound.

Thanks too for your idea to post 51 & 52 early some time next week, as I am sure all who are at this stage will appreciate same, what with Christmas and New Year upon us.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE :ty: for all your support and keeping up with posting the weekly themes for us. You have done a sterling job

May you have a Merry Christmas and a very prosperous New Year.

Luv

Dawn x

.?.

So we all doing 'light' again???

Do.. not ..know.. Title still reads week 50.... So I'm going to invent the time machine and travel forward a week when this is resolved and we're on our last photo... ???

now...where did I put my tardis key??? Always a burger to start on cold mornings like this...sometimes I have to leave it running in the neutral zone for a few minutes... Oh wait...that's star trek...???

Nah, cold starts are easy, just reverse the polarity of the neutron flow, and it will start first time every time!

Huh ? brain a bit fuddled today as was our company christmas do last night  Light ? Again ?
