im travelling to thailand for a month at xmas and was wondering what others do with regards to safeguarding thier photos incase of camera theft. any suggestions other than burning to disc ?

Keep them on a laptop or upload them somewhere for safe keeping

I take my laptop and burn them to a hard drive....laptop is a small one that fits in my backpack.

Take a portable hard drive and copy them onto that once your downloaded them on your laptop, assuming you taking a laptop with you, otherwise, a media device like a Epson P3000 or 6000

320 GB netbook for me.Also carry a 500gb usb powered 2 1/2" hard drive.I keep one copy on the computer and another on the external hard drive.
I have Lightroom and fast picture viewer on the netbook. It lets me get rid of any rubbish pictures while on my travels.
Also plenty of room on the netbook to keep some music and a few films.Great for web browsing too.I find it much more useful than the psd's that I have had in the past.

I prefer to travel light, so I just bring enough CF cards and keep it on there.

When I was travelling for 6 months in South East Asia I did the same (kept on memory cards), with the occasional DVD back-up burn if I found a Internet cafe.
