Photo storage/backup advise.

Because it is more reliable than a single drive - QED

if you want storage my-hub is pretty good, carphone started it and its all online. £30 a year gets you unlimited storage and its all secure.

you can even set your computer to back everything up on it everytime it goes on standby, so everything is safe.

I'm not a prolific photographer, but there are some photos that I would hate to lose. What storage devise do you guys use and would advise me to get?

Store a copy of all your important data on an external hard drive or stick a NAS drive on your home network and set up some simple scripts to mirror your important stuff to it on a regular basis (nightly or weekly).

In addition, I would send it up on the cloud somewhere. Plenty of options there - for just photos, flickr is very good but if you want to backup other types of data as well (documents, music etc), use a service like Mozy or Google Docs. It's fairly inexpensive.
