Photo stacking

Hi, I have been investigating photo stacking software, has anyone got any advise they could give me are there any good free downloads out there ???
Any advise would be much appreciated

What type of stacking to you want to do, if your looking at say focus stacking then sorry I've no idea :shrug: if for star trails you've got two main one's

Startrails.exe this is windows only

or you have the new and cross platform

StarStaX this is windows/apple/linux
