Photo spots in & around Nottingham/Nottinghamshire

may i ask, how can you be from nottingham but be a steelers fan ? eurgh...
Female influence....nuff said!

was you at last nights game ? think thats a new record for pims EVER hahahaha
No, I'm sure a certain February game retains that record hands down.... ;)

to keep this on topic, if any of you fancy having a go at shooting ice hockey, i run my own rec team, we train on a sunday night at the arena and you're more than welcome to come down and give it a go !

Sounds good to me. The phtography bit for starters that is.

As for playing, I've not done that for a couple of years. I played Inline-Hockey before that for Sheffield Diamondbacks, and dabbled playing a bit of Ice, even played in the HOSNIC a couple of years ago!

Crikey it really is a small world, what HOSNIC team did you play in ? i was in the winning intermediate team for notts :D

yeah the invite was just there for the photography, could be interesting to get a few of you down together, not for playing lol, dont think the lad's would appreciate sharing their icetime !

I was on the Shuff Beginners team. Ooops, I misread your invite. hehe.

if I wasnt so far away I would love to come down and play aswell lol.

I play rollers aswell so hoping to shoot some at weekend against our arch rivals hehe.

I think the purpose of this thread is to divulge such places... ;)

EVERYWHERE. walk out your front door, bang, there right in front of you is somewhere to shoot, walk up the street, to the shops, to the market, people become obsessed with shooting "new things" or going to places that have been shot a million times before.
Nick Waplington shot his book the living room in strelly/aspley, do you think he even thought about Wollaton park? but yes, thanks for the ;)

Hehe - funnily enough I'm actually a Sheffield Steelers Fan. :schtum:

Not tried photographing then hockey yet. Would love to, but I don't think some of the EIHL arenas let in SLR's. so I need to go to see lions or Scimitars to practice that. Well, that and get a suitable lens. ;)

Not a chance, sadly, they are really on it at the arenas apparently its something to do with the flash, but when you argue that you wont use the flash they start spouting policies.

I can't believe how many notts folk there are on here. Is this na official nottingham thread yet?
:)

I'll have a ponder and possibly set something up in the meeting place section later, as there do seem to be a fair few of us knocking around the area

I live just opposite Newstead Abbey. Did some pic taking the other week. Particularly liked the Japanese Garden.
I see Toton has been mentioned. I have gone up there to take pics of the Railway Yard & Scrap yards that run parallel.

Not Long Eaton but very close. An hour up the road and you can be in the peak district, what more could you want?

Do a lot of mountain biking up there. My in-laws also live there

Holme Pierpoint also has the white water rafting course where you can get close to the action.

Like this, one of my first attempts

Attenborough Nature Reserve is just down the road from you.

If you go to Wollaton Park, nip across to Martins Pond as well....small but plenty of birds and often pretty deserted.

Some great old buildings in Nottingham still if you like architecture.

Pappplewick Pumping Station out beyond Arnold.

Vicar Water near Mansfield - lake, golden hand sculpture and winding towers all in one place!

Along the canal between Nottingham and Trent Bridge has some great opportunities as well.
