Hi all

Is this "allowed" under their rules? I know you cant take pictures for commercial gain but how about doing a photo shoot for my own portfolio.

I would of course ask permission anyways just wondering if anyone has done this ?

I think most NT places have a tolerant view of photographers. One chap I spoke to at Cragside said they would be prepared to allow photographers in before opening to the general public with prior arrangement. Why not contact them?

When the NT was cut adrift to fend for itself a few years back there was a period when they became very hostile to anyone other than themselves profiting from thier properties. My contacts withint he NT advise me that they have softened thier stance somewhat, mainly in response to the disbelief with which many photographers viewed the change in policy. However, they do still look for payment for these sorts of things so while they'll probably be happy to be approached about it they will probably ask you to pay.

Thanks for the replies. As said I will indeed contact them, but if it was a resounding no on here there i would have spent my efforts looking for other venues.

Cheers

just a quick add on to this....how about Royal Parks, thinking Virginia Water (if you know it)

I wrote to NT Head Office a while back and they gave permission as long as it was not for commercial use ... I'm guessing if you tried a group of togs and a model you might come adrift if noticed.
