Can anyone out there recommend a good mid-to-large photo backpack? I've seen the F-Stop backpacks and they look brilliant, but they've got a very limited distribution network in the uk and I don't want to import one because of the costs involved. I've got a Tamrac Expedition 7 but it weighs a ton before you even start adding kit. So I bought a Lowepro Flipside Sport 15L AW which is fantastic but a bit small for what I need most of the time (it only fits a 5d3, 70-200 2.8 and one other small lens, at a squeeze!), I've also got a Lowepro rucksack which fits EVERYTHING in, but that's too big, heavy, and is more of a travel bag for the boot of the car while I'm working! Just getting a bit frustrated that I can't seem to find something that fits the bill! Anyone?

Moving to Talk equipment, you should get more response there

What costs? I got cheap standard delivery with my f stop loka and recently found out there is a shop in London that sells f stop bags hehe

Lowepro Video Fastpack 350AW. Rain jacket and other bits and bobs can go in the top. Will take a pro body with a 70-200 lens although hood needs reversed. Fairly flexible and not that heavy. Depends what you want to use it for.

Cheers for the replies. I've been looking at the F-Stop range but I'm struggling to find them in the uk. I know Paramo have started importing them but they're always out of stock and hugely expensive. Just trying to sell my Billingham 550 and 350's to afford one!

I use the Clik Elite Contrejour 40, the camera and lens unit is not removable like on the F stop but the benefit is rear and side openings to the camera compartment instead.

I rate the ThinkTank streetwalker pro very highly. I use for birds, and it handily takes a pro body, a 500mm f4 sized lens (not attached), 2 converters, one other medium lens (say a 135 f2 or 100 f2.8 or 24-70 f2.8), a spare battery and a few bits and bobs. Monopod strapped on, it's not heavy, it looks small for travelling on planes, and is tough as boots.

Had a good look at the Clik Elites now and they look to be good. Going to try and check one out if I can find a dealer close by.

The streetwalker pro is just that little bit small, but I'm hearing lots of good things about them. :) Had a look at the hard drive as well and that's still a bit small! Cheers though. :)

My only other bags have been bigger, and probably too big. I had a naturetrekker AW which was too heavy and bulky, and so I now use a Kiboko 30L, which is awesome. I have no experience of anything between these two sizes!

Just been looking for the click elite contrajour 40 in the uk and I've got exactly the same problem. No uk distributer! The US of Eh are getting all the cool stuff! Not fair. :(

Kata HB-207 and for when or if it gets heavy use in conjunction with the Kata Insertrolley which turns it into a rolling bag

Thank you everybody for your help. I've decided that I'll be getting the Click Elite Contrejour 40 and have found a UK distributer. It's significantly cheaper than the F-Stops and looks like it does everything I need. :) I have absolutely no doubt that I will be back here to try and find my ideal camera bag in a few months, because I'm yet to find a photographer that has found the perfect bag, and hasn't got a massive collection... ;)
