Hi

A work colleague had all her photo's on a netbook and not backup. The net book dropped and now the hard drive is dead.

Anyone know of any companies in London that can get the photo's of the hard drive.

The person who took out the hd tried to see if it would work with a sata cable/usb device but it did not. So looks like the hd is dead.

Thank you

To be honest if the HD has failed it's going to be hard to do anything and if anyone can it's going to come at a very large expense would be my guess

I'm going to suggest this is move to the computers sections as I'd bet you get a more knowledgeable response there

Matt,

Thank you. As she has pictures of her 1 year old daughter on it she is happy to pay. I presume once she gets a proper quote she can decide is she wants to proceed or not.

I've heard of some places being able to dismantle the drive and mount the platters in another unit to retrieve the data but costs of £500+ to do so :/

Thanks Russ. Any company in London suggestions?

Just google Hard drive recovery. There are lots of companies, most work on a no data no fee and prices now start under £100.

There are various options as far as data recovery software goes that you can run yourself. I've had success recovering data from a few drives with EasyRecovery Pro.
