I'm trying to find a simple utility for the Mac which will allow me to pick a photo, resize it, add a watermark and then save it. I've found free Windows apps to do this but nothing for the Mac. I'm looking for a simple to use app...

Can anybody recommend a suitable app?

There's ImageMagick if you fancy using the Terminal. It's very powerful - you could batch process your images with a little scripting work. Could be a little daunting if you're not used to the command-line, though.

Otherwise, also for free and with software that comes with recent versions of Mac OS X, open your photo in Preview [/Applications/Preview].

Resize the photo using Adjust Size... in the Tools menu.

Open a prepared watermark file in GIF or PNG format (for greater control of the transparency).

Select all from the watermark file and then paste it into your photo and reposition/resize to your taste.

Then use Save As... to save your resized, watermarked version.
