Hi all,

I took this photo on Saturday night of the International Space Station passing over The Kelpies in Falkirk. The Kelpies are the largest equine sculptures in the world and are part of a multi million pound development in Falkirk called The Helix.

I posted it to The Kelpies facebook page and thought that it might get a few likes. To be honest I didn't think much more of it. Then my brother (who was in the pub) sent me a text asking if I had taken the photo as he was with a journalist who was interested in trying to get it into the papers today. I checked the post on facebook and it had had over 100 likes in about 2 hours. Anyway, the journalist phoned me on Sunday morning and after a few discussions we came to an agreement where he would write up some words to go with it and put it out to the newspapers and we would split any income from the photo.

Lo and behold, it's in today's Scotsman and The Metro. I'm quite astounded with the interest in it but am absolutely delighted with the coverage it's got so far.

Well done.. if it's your first published then get a frame for the pic and the cutting:)

Congratulations

They're massive aren't they.

Thanks. Yeh, Kipax, this is the first photo I've had published. Should have mentioned that!

Well done Leslie, that's a cracking photo. I'd be proud of that one and would definitely have a blow up on my wall.

wonderful stuff.. well done and really deserved too

Thanks for all the kind words. It appeared in the Dundee Courier yesterday as well.

In a further development today my work would like to have a print made up to offer as a prize in a prize draw. They have asked for a copy of the jpeg and they will arrange the printing and framing etc. but I have no idea how much to ask for? I wasn't on work time when the shot was taken so they have no claim to image other than asking for it.

Can anyone advise on a suitable price to ask for?

Congrats!

In your excitement, don't forget to tell the taxman. A tax penalty tends to spoils one mood!
