Just seen this on another site, there is a TV show on Channel 4, 7pm Sunday called 'Picture This'.

The C4 site says this about the programme. "Six talented but unknown photographers compete to win a publishing deal and an exhibition at an internationally renowned gallery."

Sorry if it has been posted before, but I couldn't find anything, and it may be worth a look. ;)

Thanks for that redhead17. Hope your team win tomorrow (later today)

Chris :)

Chris :)

Thanks Chris, just hope I don't have that 'Blue' feeling tomorrow. ;) We'd better perform better than the last time we played Luton.

This programme sounds familiar, but it doesn't seem to be a repeat. Fingers crossed it is half decent. :)

There was a series I missed not long ago, wasn't chuffed about it!

Heh, knowing Benitez, he'll field his strongest side tomorrow!

Probably sounds familiar as I seem to recall a thread last year where people here tried to get in on the show.

Thanks for the Heads Up - have sky+ and series linked :D:D

Will someone bump this around 6pm so I can put a reminder on Sky :D

please :)

Ive also set a series link and recorded - thanks

Does anyone know of any other shows similar to this?

Almost forgot about the program, have this set on the Sky + channel 4 HD 7 oclock.......

Yup some of us did try out.

I take it by that you didn't get in Pete?

Geez, if Pete didn't get in - the guys that did must be world class photographers, and therefore why have the need to go on a show like that?

Just found this thread with 5 mins to spare!!

Cheers for the info

They really don't seem it :) So far theres only 1 guy there who's work I like. The guy with no training who's been doing it for a year. But god knows how these people got on the show. They can't get shutter speeds right!

Given that a few people from here entered, I think Mohain got quite far I feel its quite insulting. Some of them just can't work the camera, or compose shots. Maybe they just didn't want good photographers or something.

It's on again tonite Ch4 +1 @ 8pm.

I'm shure there is another thread here somewhere about this.

I only like one guy, the guy with the least experience!

EDIT: I think it was Jay, yeh... :(

Some of them were pretty bad, I can't believe that Pete didn't get in.

Pete has deomonstrated that his specicality is in the post processing part, i.e. HDR. The judges and therefore I assume the programme seem to be concentrating on getting the image right initially rather than tweeking afterwards.

Only for landscapes and cityscapes. I don't photoshop my documentary and portraiture work besides conversion to b&w. There's no need. The moment you capture is the important part not the processing. But I do agree with you. They were after "photographers", despite some of them being unable to use their cameras.

I'm not suprised you felt insulted Pete, they're all terrible! Okay, I'll give that it takes different people different lengths of time to develop a personal style but I would expect at least technicial competence - I wouldn't half be suprised if they were on Auto the whole time!

some were lacking th basic skills, but then everyone who has a DLSR calls themselves a photographer, which I guess is correct but the word pro or amateur is missing in front

The "picture this " part of C4's site is down, wounder why. Did you get the feeling they'd be more proficient with a "camera phone". I know it's the end result that counts but, with the exception of the togs assistant, did any of the bend their knees or turn their camera to portrait format?

channel 4 exec thinks." i know . we,ll get 6 unknown togs and 4 opinionated judges,. make em do realy silly stuff. then people can laugh at them, when we make em look stupid."
well they did that.certainly an anoying programme.i think the guy who was self taught , with little experience, was the most interesting of the lot.
and how the hell did half of em get in , in the first place?
several of the judges must have a degree in
talking B******s and using big words they dont understand the meaning of.:suspect:

when you ve got the sitter for a portrait telling the tog to use a faster shutter and to get more light ,,,,,,,,,

Deeply disappointed, I just don’t know where these people come from,
interesting that the subject was telling the photographer how to set the camera.
I think there’s hope for me yet, but glad I watched it.

I'll probably keep watching the show out of curiosity, but I didn't think the standard was particularily high to say how many people must have entered the competition.

I Missed it!! anyone got a download link for it??
