What do people use to organise their photos. I currently use the MS folder and ACDSee to view. As my computer fills up, I wonder if there is a better program to do the organising?

Lightroom is probably one of the best programmes on the market for organising and handling images. However with a price tag of around £200.00 you have to have a lot of photographs to justify it.

At the end of the day, a little thought and a bit of organisation will probably do what you want. Before Lightroom I used to file my images by year, then shoot, and possibly a sub folder. In fact that's the way I still work even with Lightroom.

You might want to consider something along the same lines, you can then use your existing browser to view the images. Beauty about this is it cost nothing , except a bit of time ensuring you've got the structure correct.

lightroom or aperture and/or photomechanic are the industry standard professional tools.

you might get on well with adobe bridge, it's free (install a photoshop trial from the adobe website and just select for it to install bridge, it isn't a trial of bridge) and has almost all of the organisation features of lightroom, some people have very large setups with it.
