Yes
Some Typhoons (Eurofighter) are up at Kinloss just now training. I saw one for the first time yesterday while I was driving back to town, it was doing low circuits of the airfield.

Apparently it's part of some big excercise, with chinooks ferrying RAF Regiment types around as well.

yep, the chinooks are flying right over our place at all times of the day and night

Noisy bar stewards aren't they?

That dear friends is the sound of freedom:thumbs:

The training path is directly over my house (I'm on the shoreline) but I have no complaint, I love them. Spent a great day out at Kinloss last year when there there was a massive European exercise. - rather smelly though with all that fuel being burned. :gag:

Btw, the station has recently installed a public observation platform.

Probably a Tornado Chewy.

I really miss the old Shackeltons that used to fly out of there, merlin engines have such a distinctive sound.
