When I watch TV and see some wonderful scenery I often wish I could be there with a camera to capture the scene.
On Sunday night whilst watching a recording of Earthflight this mountain vista was shown. It was too good to miss so I hit pause and took the above photo.
I must admit I never expected it to turn out as good as it has. I think my camera will be at hand when watcing these type of programmes in the future.
I know it is cheating but as long as I admit to how I obtained the shot I can't see any harm.
What do you think?

Great idea! Saves you having to learn anything whatsoever about photography. (The laws pertaining to copyright, for example)

Apart from the obvious copyright problem, a screen capture (taking a frame out of the video) would give you a much crisper image rather then pointing a camera at the tv!

maybe it was meant to be tongue in cheek, but your replies seem kinda rude

I thought the same as you. It was just a bit of fun, something different but they seem to be taking it too seriously. It not as though i will be taking all my photos in front of the TV,I might go outside from time to time.
And by the way I didn't use a D3.

Richard Price made a career out of it - check him out.. http://www.rprincephoto.com/. He was one of the first post modern photographers. He ran into copyright issues but managed to argue his case. Be careful what you do with the images you could run into a few job worths...
