I have a few photo's of daughter hoola hooping, taken at the same time on sports mode .
They are all shot in Sony Raw format and Jpeg.
Have installed on desktop Lightroom 3 / CS5 / Ashampoo 9. ( rather use ).
On laptop Gimp / Darktable.

I want to merge all the photo's into one, but have one photo stand out as the main shot.
The rest of the photo's i want as "blurred background".

Now is this possible ?
How would i go about it with the software i have.
But I am no expert also.

Do you mean like a photo montage, like several photos and one main photo? all with separate frames/borders within one finished image

nope
I'll rephrase the request.
A main Photo image with more similar photo's "blurring " around this image
I suppose, image a fly photo. with the wings being blurred from other shots

similar to this

Looks like they are consecutive shots, if yours are its a simple, have them all on separate layers and adjust the opacity of the layers, and masks to keep some focal areas as is, ie prominaent

In photoshop you can also try changing the layer from 'normal' to 'difference' or 'screen'
Hard to know which one without seeing the images but that will layer the images more like the tennis shot
