photo management on iPad

I've recently acquired an ipad 3 (yes I know its 'The New iPad') and with having many hundreds of photos I want to sort into folders and then sub-folders, in particular of family that I want to be able to take to show grandparents without having to take the laptop. Has anybody found an app to do this?

I've just downloaded photo-sort (as it was £1.49) and i'm not sure if this is going to do what I want, but was the cheapest so thought I would give it a try, i'll post a review in a bit.

iphoto? or maybe a portfolio app like padfolio?

I've got mine arranged in us folders by just syncing from iTunes mirroring the folder structure on my mac.
