photo editing washed out effect

Hi there members

im new to lightroom and the fuji x100f but im very keen to get my photos to have this effect.

Could anyone help me out please as im keen to learn. ive tried myself but seem to make a hash of it.

What effect, that is just a bunch of standard looking photos to me. Probably JPEG`s straight out of the camera with nothing done to them

they definitely aren't straight out of the camera with nothing done to them as mine look nothing like that

i used classic chrome last week in cape town and they looked very different

The climate in those pics looks a bit Northern European so I'd expect the lighting to be different to that in Capetown.
Nothing to do with processing...unless you get dull overcast days in Capetown.

the person has albums from all over the world and every picture looks exactly the same which makes me think they are all edited in the same way

Try The negative film sim for a starting point, pull the highlights down and bring the black point up. Should bring you a bit closer.
