Photo Editing Software - any advice?

Hi There

Have just run into a problem whereby the inbuilt Microsoft Photo Editor can no longer load the latest images from my Canon G7.

Currently I load the images from my camera into Kodak Easy Share (old package I used with an earlier Kodak digital camera). In the past I have been able to open these images in Photo Editor to resize or remodel by cutting out heads or figures and re-pasting these into other photos.

Now when I try to use Photo Editor I get an error message stating "Error reading file"

This is a pain because I have several family photos that I want to manipulate and cannot now do so.

Anyone out there who can recommend a "fix" for the Photo Editor problem or alternatively point me in the direction of another free or relatively cheap package that will do the "head transplant" operation easily. I don't want to spend a fortune on a bells and whistles programme that I will only use occasionally.

Try photoshop Elements, it's around the £50 on amazon etc, another options in Paint shop Pro, a bit more complicated to use but it has more features and is a bit dearer I think.

Another vote for Elements here. Or for a comprehensive list of image editing software look at the sticky at the top of this forum.
