Is anyone editing their photos on screen with the size and resolution mentioned in the title? How do you find it?

I currently have an older 24" Samsung TN monitor and one of the annoyances with it, is that I'm never quite sure if what I'm seeing on my screen is truly accurate at any given point. For example, if I move my head up or down, the contrast and brightness appears to alter.

It seems that IPS LED screens are more suitable for photo editing, as they don't tend to alter that much at different viewing angles etc, so I'm considering a new monitor. My concern though, is would a new 25" (as opposed to say a 27") at 1440 make everything on the screen look too small and compressed for editing and also general web use?

I've seen a couple of deals for 25" IPS LED monitors for around the £200 - £250 region , where as a 27" would be almost double the price. I'd also need to budget for a new screen calibrator, as my Huey Pro wouldn't work with the LED versions.

Thanks in advance for any replies.
