No
any photography courses in west lothian / edinburgh area im trying to move on from just snapshots.

Have you thought about booking some 1-2-1 time with a photographer? I have done this and I found it really useful. I learned lots in a very short space of time. You can also concentrate on what you enjoy shooting most.

i done this with a local so called pro photographer cost £70 for the day 10-4
he was a canon man and im a nikon man
any questions about my camera and he referred me to my owners manual
he didnt understand why my pics didnt look like his as he said dont like nikon very much ! he was a chancer so once bitten twice shy
unless he comes highly reccomended

You could try Stevenson College at Sighthill for evening courses

Subscribed to this, as I'm also in West Lothian and would be interested in some training including proper experienced guidance.

Should be something in there that might help. I did their lowlight one recently in an industrial museum. Was pretty good. Made me use a tripod and a flash which I normally avoid like the plague.

anyone used these guys in Edinburgh? I'm very tempted with the course on the 4th September. At £85 it is not too bad.

I have looked at local camera clubs, but not sure how they would be with beginners, as most of their syllabus is geared to togs with some experience and understanding.

I was looking at courses at the local college but the only course they have going requires me to have minimum of 5 GCSE C grades or above. This is an issue for me as im not very well educated, so have started looking fr other options.

There does seem to be loads offering services to teach you on google, but i guess its better if someone gives a good reccomendation

As above lots for colleges offer evening classes now & you can even get them for free if your looking to further your education or don't have many GCSE's.

What sort of thing do you want to learn as that can make a big difference? There are some good online courses, I subscribe to one to one which is mainly aimed at the wedding/portrait photographer but it has helped me loads and easily paid for itself!

That's quite cool, I've not heard of these before. I don't suppose you have a link handy do you? Are they expensive?

I've booked the macro day at Glasgow Botanics so shall see how that goes.

I'm thinking about the Groupon deal mentioned above as well. 11 hours left to order it.
